You can fight poverty with your own two hands by joining Transitions to help low-income and homeless women in Spokane move toward self-sufficiency. To view our Application, you must have the free Adobe Reader 7 or later version on your computer.  Then you will be able to read, fill-in, save & print the application with your information.  You must save to your computer for changes to be printed.

Committee List:

Development Committee

Duties: Supporting Transitions in raising resources to fulfill the mission of the organization, planning and overseeing special events, and broadening the donor base of the organization.    

Finance Committee

Duties: Facilitating the establishment of the organization's budget that has integrity and promotes long-term financial stability. 

Program Committee

Duties: Evaluating the overall impact and quality of Transitions' programs and for supporting collaboration among the programs.

Sponsorship and Human Resources Committee

Duties: Evaluating the extent to which the vision, mission and priorities are integrated into the programs, services, and daily operations of the organization.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Children's Mentor:

A Child Mentor will make a three-month commitment to ensure the healthy development of children living at the Transitional Living Center. Activities that volunteers may be asked to do include organizing group activities such as; team building, outdoor sports, teaching a craft or hosting activities such as tie-dyeing, group cooking, games, and reading activities.Volunteer description here.  

Ambassadors:

Ambassadors open doors for Transitions in the community, introducing new people to our mission and impact at our Open Door Events throughout the year.  Perfect for the busiest among us who still want to make an impact!

Farmer's Market Volunteer:

Have fun while making an impact through Transitions' New Leaf program. Hang out at the farmer's markets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and talk to people about New Leaf while selling their delicious baked goods and fresh produce. Volunteer description here. (Seasonal)

Photography:

If you love photography there will always be an opportunity to shoot events or portraits. Upcoming opportunities include Thanksgiving celebrations and Christmas photos with our visiting Santa.

Gardening: 

Get your hands dirty at Transitions' Growing Hope Community Garden. Watering, planting, building...whatever you like to do there is a place for you!

Job Mentor:

If you'd like to contribute your job-searching knowledge to women getting back on their feet, this is a great opportunity for you. Whether it's job searching, interviewing or resume building your skills would be a great asset.

Cooking, anyone?:

We're seeking guest "chefs" at Miryam's House, the Women's Hearth and the Transitional Living Center to help the women we serve learn more about cooking and nutrition!
