Business Spotlight: Applause and Appreciation for United Data Security

Making a Difference Can Be a Phone Call Away

Sometimes a lasting connection with a local business is due to serendipity. In 2009, a Transitions’ staff member called United Data Security to inquire about how much they charge for paper shredding. The owner, Paul Gauron, asked about the organization’s mission. After listening to the services provided for women and children, Paul replied, “Your charge will be nothing.”

United Data Security started in 2006 and has grown in the past 11 years. Just last year, the company shredded an estimated 40,000 tons of paper. Paul and his staff take pride in keeping their clients safe from identity theft and appreciates the confidentiality requirements for our organization. Their truck visits our sites on a monthly basis ensuring the privacy of the women we serve.

When Paul was asked why his company decided to help a nonprofit, he said matter-of-factly, "It's the right thing to do." He would say to other companies interested in helping a local profit to find a good fit, feel good about it, and do it.  (Pictured left to right: Wes Siegel, Sales Manager and Paul Gauron, Owner)
